The largest and longest running open water swim event in Canada! 2026 will mark the 78th edition of an event that has always offered a bucket list challenge for young and old, as well as newly minted swimmers and seasoned racers.
Westwood Lake is Nanaimo’s favourite freshwater swimming spot, and it’s easy to see why. The lake sits high above the city with Mount Benson as a backdrop, and no powered vessels are permitted, so the water stays calm and quiet.
Elk Lake sits just 20 minutes north of downtown Victoria on the Saanich Peninsula. It’s warm, calm, and familiar to thousands of local swimmers, and it’s the training ground for Canada’s Olympic Rowing Team.
A challenging 7km or 4km, or super fun 1.5km swim in historic Peachland, BC. Both the 7km and 4km distances take you over the underwater caves where the Ogopogo lives!
