Clinics

What do I need to bring to the clinics?

Bring your wetsuit, goggles, towel, swim cap and some clothes to wear afterwards. There are no change rooms available, so you should arrive with your swim suit on.

You will be given a swim cap to wear which must be worn at all the clinics.

It’s also a good idea to bring some water and a snack for afterwards.

The first several clinics are usually colder, so bring something warm to change into.

Will the clinics be cancelled by bad weather?

Generally, the clinics will run rain or shine. You can never predict the weather on the swim day, so it always good to practice in all weather conditions.

If it is very windy and the water is rough, the swim coaching may be limited to the shallow water near the shore.

What time do the clinics start?

The clinics start promptly at 7am. You must be at Gyro Beach no later than 6:45am to get signed in and put your wetsuit on. We recommend getting there earlier than 6:45am so you are not rushed.

How much do the clinics cost?

If you are registered for this year’s swim, the clinics are included free with your registration!

If you have not registered for the swim and would like to take the clinics, there is a $5 charge per clinic.

Can I take the clinics if I am not registered for a swim?

Yes, you can still attend the clinics, but there is a $5 charge.

I can’t make all the swim clinics. Can I still come?

Yes! The clinics are individual clinics so you can come to as many or as few as you’d like. Many of the same concepts are taught and reinforced at each clinic so you won’t necessarily miss anything.
