Refund Policy
Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, as agreed to at the time of registration.
For legal, safety and liability reasons, registrations cannot be transferred or given to another participant. No exceptions. Participants who violate this policy may be prohibited from participating in future Across the Lake Swim events.
Registration Protection
Optional registration protection is available for purchase during the registration process. Participants who are concerned that they may be unable to attend are encouraged to consider this option.
Registration protection is a third-party service offered through Race Roster and is separate from Across the Lake Swim. Coverage, eligibility, claims and reimbursements are subject to the terms and conditions of the registration protection provider and are handled directly through Race Roster and/or its third-party provider.
Across the Lake Swim does not administer the registration protection program and does not determine whether a claim is eligible or approved.
Deferrals
If you are unable to participate, you may be eligible to apply in advance for a Deferral Discount, subject to the terms and deadlines of our deferral policy.
Why We Don’t Offer Refunds
A significant portion of the cost of producing an event is committed well before event day. This includes operational costs, permits, equipment, insurance, safety, marketing and products such as shirts, swim caps and medals that are ordered months in advance.
For this reason, registration fees are non-refundable, including when a participant is unable or chooses not to attend.
Participants who cannot attend are still welcome to collect their event package at Package Pickup.
Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Participants with a concern about a registration or payment are encouraged to contact Across the Lake Swim directly so we have an opportunity to address the issue.
Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute does not override the refund, cancellation or registration terms agreed to at the time of registration.
Where a participant initiates a chargeback or payment dispute contrary to those terms, Across the Lake Swim reserves the right to refuse or cancel that participant’s registration for future events.
