Skaha Lake Swim Cancelled

We have made the decision to cancel tomorrow’s Skaha Lake Swim due to the Summerland wildfire.

With the highway closure, evacuations taking place nearby, and the additional smoke moving into the area, it simply does not make sense to continue with the event. The safety of our swimmers, team, volunteers and everyone travelling to Penticton has to come first.

We know many of you have been waiting for this decision and were hopeful that conditions would allow the swim to go ahead. Unfortunately, the situation with the Summerland fire has changed that.

Our hearts go out to everyone who has been affected by these fires, particularly those who have been evacuated or are facing uncertainty about their homes and communities.

We will be sending additional information to registered participants regarding next steps in the next few days.
